Camera technique help!

Recommended Posts

Guest knarfie

Hello all,

I am new here, and this is my first post.

I often get lost while using the camera in after effect.

How to set up the composition (fore, mid, backgrounds) so the camera fly through is more fluent?

Any tips for camera usages will help...

Thanx! :P

Really you just need to get a lot of experience playing with the thing. A LOT of time. It'll start to make sense after a while.

Sometimes it's good to use auto-orient to the POI. Sometimes it'd be better to use a null to position the camera. Sometimes just adjusting it's x and z attributes like it was on a dolly. Sometimes you want to add a wiggle. Sometimes you want small depth of field sometimes you want large dof...

The point is. there is no end all be all tutorial on how to use the camera. any tut will only address one situation. the above tut is nice for faking parallax and using dof but obviously is only on situation. anyways, good luck, you got some work ahead of you.
