I know this is reserved for lengthening or shortening layers in AE. But wondered if the key command exists.

It's amazing how often this doesn't work anymore. Since AE7 you have to be active in the timeline for it to work (which drives me batty, same with all key commands for the timeline). And even then, the number-pad keys don't select the layer by number all the time. It's even harder to get it to work with layers with two digits. There are two things in life you don't mess with. One of them is another man's fries.
The other is his function keys...especially after he's had four generations of the application to get used to them!

WTF indeed.
I swear to god that there is a guy at Adobe, probably the inept son of some executive, whose one and ONLY job is to make changes to the interface / menu layout / keyboard shortcuts that follow no logic and were asked for by no one. He has to make changes like this for every version so they have an excuse to keep him on the payroll.

I'm adding my voice to the chorus of disapproval over this shortcut change. What sort of idiot changes a much-used key command to one that actually slows you down?

I've been thinking about putting on a Keith David film festival for quite some time now. Everything from "They Live" to "Clockers".

Yeah, what sort of idiot would have the wild idea that Command-G in an Adobe design app could mean group items?
Unthinkable, isn't it?
Better yet, what sort of idiot would also think that in the future this could be related to an immensely popular feature request?
