yeah as soon as i noticed the update in the software update thingy, i told a co-worker and he instantly said... ' ok you install it and tell me if it works... '
and i responded... umm it can only get better from how shitty it currently is.... :)

and then one of my system drives failed and i didnt check after effects to see if it really fixes it or not...
its always one thing or another.. i swear... but "fixes third party issues" hopefully means after effects....

I never did 7.4, so I don't have any problems to fix - my stuff works fine :)

I'll gladly be a test dummy for you guys once I get my Mac back from the "genius bar"...I have a backup copy of the OS drive anyway ;)

Just installed. As far as I can tell, there's no smoke coming out of the computer yet...

nah u didn't see that firmware update...macs no longer create smoke, it's not green enough, they just put out smug

Hopefully I'm not the only one here using Winblows, but I just figured I'd mention that it seems to fix the AE problem.

I'm sure they have fixed the AE problem, but I'll hold off updating at least until I've finished my current project...

I agree with everything johnmont says, but I'm also wondering if it's time for something else to come along and unseat QuickTime for pro users. Something solid, stable, and consistent would be a nice change from the way Apple's taking us. I'm a pretty big Apple fan, but I think it's pretty obvious that something like the recent unpleasantness is bound to happen again.
