My Mac is telling me there's another QT update. Would somebody please install it and make sure it's not going to crash mograph and NLE applications, then let me know your results? Thanks :-)

Upgraded yesterday. I checked Stu Maschwitz's blog, Macrumors, Tuaw, etc. for possible errors before I did this.
Using AE CS3 without any problems. Don't know about other apps.

Macbook Pro OS 10.4.11
Mac Pro OS 10.5.2

Well - i'm gonna give it a shot - I can always revert back to 7.3.9 and re-upgrade if necessary - but carbaldi has said AE CS3 is working ok and the update is said to "improve compatibility with third-party applications"...

here goes...

7.4.5 fine so far on Leopard 10.5.2 with CS3 suite

ended up rolling back to 7.3 on my XP-64 machine due to the updater being a complete piece of horribly programmed crap that would crash my browser every time it wanted to update.

No troubles for me in Leopard 10.5.2 running all the usual mograph suspects.

I've always had that same problem on xp-64 with all the versions of quicktime and also when I try to see h264 video online my browser crashes
I wouldn't blame windows, I think apple screwed it up

h264 crashing browsers and general irregularities are certainly nothing new, on any platform.

i think i'm done with upgrading quicktime. i cant think of any tangible benefit that has been gained in the last 2 versions besides h.264. is there any? does anyone actually see a difference between this point-release and that last 5?

they did add export for web, which is pretty interesting, i believe most of the updates are because they found a hole in quicktime that allowed viruses to be planted into the video file on the pc side, there is a post somewhere about it...i think firebetty posted it

yeah, kinda confirms what i was thinking.

i don't use antivirus/anti-malware at all except for the rare spybot/adaware scan. i don't think i have had a virus in at least 8 years.

Running 7.4.5 on Intel Mac with Leopard 10.5.2 i seem to be getting echo in the audio. Like it will start repeating what is playing. How do i downgrade and what is the last "good" version of QT? Thx

Can anyone join in with my general disappointment as to why us XP X64 users still get the invisible interface on websites... how long have I spent scrabbling around trying to find a play head whilst trying to scrub around a video on a site?

It's just not on! I might do the very english thing and actually write a letter of complaint.

And post it.

I just updated to 7.4.5. Now After Effects CS3 won't import quicktimes (says .MOV not supported). I uninstalled QT and re-installed...same problem. Couple of restarts. I'm on a PC with XP SP2.
