PyBend is a FREE Python script for Cinema 4D that automates the process of adding a Bend deformer to your objects.

• Automatically adds the Bend as a child of your object
• Automatically positions and re-sizes the deformer so you don't have to!

its a cool stuff, but forcing registration isnt gonna win you any brownie points. If people want to see what your company is up to they will follow you on facebook/twitter/google+ whatever.

if you are worried about bandwidth, just throw it on a free host like mediafire.

I think there was a script somewhere, which did something similar. if you selected an object and a deformer, it would match up the dimensions. Not sure where it is though.

But otherwise, cool tool.

Sorry guys! The intent was not malicious at all. The free script was just a small chunk of the plugin that will be released this week. The ONLY reason for the registration was to have a reliable way of getting feedback to improve the plugin and to let those interested know about the release.
I have gotten a good response and even some suggestions that will be in the plugin.

I sincerely apologize if it was a hassle of any kind!

I am glad you liked the script! I dug the internet and couldnt find a script or plugin that really did this. I have done it with custom Xpresso setups but didnt like the hassle of keeping up with all of that...not to mention the calculations that Xpresso adds to your scene.
I developed this as a tool to speed my workflow up, so I thought the community might benefit from it too.

It isnt that big of a deal to me either way guys. If the registering thing is a huge concern then I will pull it...deal?

Haha, its fine man. No need to apologize.

Im just saying that a lot of people don't like giving out their details at every corner, so you loose a lot of potential users. It's your product, you can distribute it however you want.

Its great that you are making it, i always thought this should be a default feature. like ctrl+clicking on the deformer should do this and not just child it.

If people use it and like, they will naturally add you on facebook or twitter, or whatever as they will want more cool stuff. You dont have to force them to do it. And since your tool is actually useful, since you made it for your own workflow its all guaranteed =)

re: other script, im sure someone will bring it up. I dont really remember where it is. but i remember it was in the same place, as a script that makes image planes from selected images.

edit: just to clarify, im saying this with the best intentions, i know a lot of marketing books tell you that you should extract as much information from the customer as you can and at every point, but generally if you trust the people they trust you too. I think.

vozzz I totally agree on the trust thing. I not only have improvements planned for this, but will have other free stuff coming too.

BTW...the file is public now with option to register left to the user.

The registration kept me from downloading it as well , there isn't much to give feedback about other than its a simple tool that does exactly what it says , good work

very true. I have built them in Xpresso but didn't like that solution in the long run for a couple of reasons. Keeping up with Xpresso tag presets. Also, python gives more flexibility on the development side to add more functionality on top of the core functions.

There have been also some COFFEE scripts in this style that just found. I tested them and they each have their limitations as well. I think the plugin form will, in the end, provide a much easier and intuitive interface for the user.

Btw, I am totally open to suggestions for improvements or possible features.
