SUMMARY OF POSITION

Home Entertainment Group and has created some of the world’s most popular and award-winning online games, including The Lord of the Rings Online™, Dungeons & Dragons Online®: Eberron Unlimited™, and Asheron's Call®.
Turbine is seeking a video editor to shoot and/or edit video and/or live gameplay footage for trailers, teasers, developer diaries, community videos and B-roll. Will work independently and as part of a team to capture and/or record raw video and audio to turn it into finished product, or shooting live gameplay suitable for distribution.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in video production. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred. Should have basic knowledge of production equipment and computers as well as a knowledge of MMOs. Must be able to work in a team environment, while also being a self-starter and able to manage your own time to achieve project goals as directed by creative directors and clients. Must have the ability to communicate effectively and the ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
Great story-telling skills using Final Cut Pro are required, and After Effects animations experience a plus. You must be capable of carrying a conceptual thought from script or storyboard to rough cut and finish. The ideal candidate will have a reel that demonstrates the ability to deliver a clear message in both a unique and creative way.
Operate Camera and setup lights and mic for video shoots.
Capture unique moments while playing the game.
Evaluate and select scenes for dramatic and entertainment qualities and story continuity.
Compositing and effects work including roto- scoping and scene cleanup.
Edit video and sound using FCP 7 and AE.
- 2 + years experience as a video editor
- Strong communication skills, conceptual skills and story-telling ability
- Ability to successfully handle multiple tasks and prioritize as needed.
- Extensive hands-on editing experience with Adobe After Effects and Final Cut Pro.
- Bachelor's degree in Motion Graphics/Editing or equivalent, relevant experience.
- Software Requirements: Final Cut Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator.
