Hello people
As a last chance for resolving my problem i post my symptoms here.
From time to time AE is losing the path of my footages. (Tif sequences, with or without alpha, 8 or 32bit) It's random. The files aren't moved or copied over. And i have to relink each sequence when i reopen a project. Sometimes not. What a pain.
I don't know what to do. And i have no idea where it could come from.
CS 5.5, Snow leopard. Internal Sata disk. Macpro.
Did someone already encountered that problem?
Thank you.

Perhaps something with the file names?

Do you see something wrong here?

Well when i checked "force alphabetical order"
The footage name goes from BG_Main.[1-240].tif to Main (the name of the folder containing the sequence)
After a few reopenings the sequence seems to be recognized but it's hard to tell since it's random.
And if it's working I need to change the tokens for my render folders.

I'll try to change the padding that seems to be the issue.

Is that a comma in between the 1 and 5? Don't use anything other than letters, numbers and underscores.Do you see something wrong here?

Also, always pad the sequence with zero's, i.e. 0001.
I'm not sure if these are what's causing your problem, but it def helps in not causing others.

might be worth only using one DOT in the fileextension.
/Volumes/1,5To/PC3 renders/insert_copper/BG/Main/BG_Main.1.tif
BG_Main DOT 1 DOT tif
ive always found best to use one dot.
