SPIN VFX TORONTO IS RECRUITING FOR A FEATURE FILM


Spin VFX Toronto is currently recruiting for a seasoned VFX EDITOR.

This position is to commence on or about July 24, 2012, or earlier if possible.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The VFX Editor incorporates all required versions (from animatics through to final composites) of visual effects shots into the current cuts of live action sequences. Also has the ability to create a functioning environment where the Visual Effects Supervisor can evaluate any version of any shot in the current sequences for aesthetic and technical direction.

§ Maintain sequence edits and inserting visual effect shots into the timeline
§ Ensure the production database is maintained with shot counts and lineup
§ Ensure that shots cut into the sequence are correct in terms of counts and lineup
§ Preparing sequence edits for client approval when required
§ Organize and run the dailies session and/or client reviews/cinesyncs
§ Perform shot specific color corrections to match avid telecine when required
§ Assist VFX Editors in all aspects of a project
§ Be the lead in any PR or Showreel work
§ Aiding in any pipeline/development issues that surround outsource or Showreel work
§ Editing, conforming and managing any reels produced


Requirements and DESIRED SKILLS:

§ Minimum 5-7 years of experience within the film and television industry
§ Expert knowledge of Final Cut Pro
§ Working knowledge of Nuke is considered an asset
§ Familiarity using Tweak RV and framecycler
§ Be able to convert between key numbers, timecode and frames
§ Excellent communication skills
