Check out Ryan's tuts here for after effects, I found them to be pretty usefull :

Hahah, I was going to suggest both those. Both awesome/helpful for sure!
IK's are a bit of a pain depending what you're trying to do though... sometimes simple parenting or puppet tool are great, like Ryan's tuts

very cool. i look forward to checking those out. i saw the one he did for aetuts with the red headed kid but i didn't have that shapeshifter plugin. i haven't done character stuff in a while. might be time to get back into that!!!

You have to check his last series of tuts on how to animate 2,5d characters in 3d softwares, this is just AWESOME !
