How can I add an outer curve to this spline that has been put into an extrude nurb. I need it to have a pill sort of shape just in this area thats been marked. Thanks!

my first thought is- you can't, at least not easily in C4D. Better to model shapes like that from polys, even if you decide to make that object using modifiers. NURBS will give you a shitty poly flow when you go to smooth it all out.

I would try this: subdivide that cap, which would give you a bunch of lines radiating to a center point. Then use the Knife tool and cut a bunch of loops around that point. Then in Point mode grab the center point and use the Move tool with a Soft Selection with custom falloff to get the shape you want.

i thought about the same process J Montreuil described.

 

i think you could probably also select that polygon cap, inner extrude, move outward, repeat.

 

it seems a little easier, but im not a 3D expert, so maybe someone has a reason to not do it that way.

Yep Oil Tank is exactly what I needed. Sometimes the easiest way is right in front of us. Cheers!!!!!
