I have a few questions regarding working as a motionographer in Atlanta.
As a result, I would like to network through this forum with other Atlanta based motionographers.
I would like to know if it is customary to get a foot in the door at a studio or post house as a freelancer in Atlanta? I've read that many artists started out working full time in a studio and after they've built up a client base opted to go freelance. The reason I ask, is that I am self-taught and not affiliated with a school or group. Do studios generally recruit from schools? Would that make a difference along with having a good reel in getting hired. How steep is the competition? And is it common for motionographers to leave Atlanta for NY, LA or abroad in order to work. Is the mo-graph scene supportive of one another.
Thanx for any answers you all can offer me.
