RAW/CinemaDNG import workflow, Resolve, AE, etc.

I have footage captured in Magic Lantern .raw format, converted it to CinemaDNG and want to make Prores proxies. I've done this exact workflow before with Resolve to roundtrip to FCP/Premiere but I noticed for some reason the default skin tones in Resolve aren't as pleasing/more red compared to the Raw import of AE which I think looks better.

 

1) Is there a way to skip the Raw Import settings that pop up every time in AE so I can simply apply the same color balance settings to all after it's been imported? I looked into the interpretation rules.txt file but not sure what to do for .dng stuff

 

2) Or does anyone have a LUT or workflow for Resolve that simulates the skin tones closer to what ACR is doing?

 

I tried exporting a .xml file from Resolve of the dng files and importing that into AE but it's been freezing up.

I was going to start a simple poll but figured that might be too black/white and considering the number of threads about technical issues, it seems more complex than that. After a year what would you give it for for ease of use, features, price, stability, etc. A combined thumbs up or down?

 

Of course after giving the trial a shot I had connection issues which worries me obviously. http://www.thedailyb...rs-with-it.html But wanted to hear what people think having used it daily more long term.

C4D Character Animation/iPi Mocap good workflow?

I've done some very basic rigging and mocap retargeting in Maya using the HumanIK system a while ago. Wanted to know if there is a solid workflow in getting mocap data from iPi into C4D and usable retargeting?

 

From some searches I get the impression is can be fustrating using the standard C4D retarget tool and .bvh but "Cactus Dan" seems a bit better:

Also how is character animation in C4D in general once you've got everything rigged up? Or is it better to just stick w/ Maya for C.A. work in general?
