Ok so now when I want to open a precomp from a layer, (control + double clicking) it gives me some kind of wacky drop down menu first...??

It won't let me double click a layer to open it up in the mask editor/footage window.

is there a recent update? We just got this installed about 2 days ago. So far I'm not impressed. Don't even get me started on the new Magic Bullet "Looks." Great, another plug-in I can't use in past projects. FUCK.

Edit: Oh and did I mention it's also trying to bring a layer from illustrator (CS4) in as a piece of actual footage? WTF.

It's not my job to look for job candidates at our work, but I'm throwing this out there, I'm wondering if any of you in the LA area know of (or are yourself) a great web designer that's looking for a full time staff gig.
I'm going to be honest in telling you what we're looking for. If I had to write the job ad it would be the following:

Looking for an Awesome Web Designer for cable network:
couple things necessary in the candidate: (and I'm not kidding - we will sniff you out if you're full of shit)

1. TYPOGRAPHY! TYPOGRAPHY! TYPOGRAPHY! Uh, did I say TYPOGRAPHY? I mean it.
2. do you have more than one design style. Is grunge your "thing?" well, can you do "glowy, flowery" too? How 'bout "old timey mystery?" if not, don't apply.
3. Do you know Flash? How about photoshop? How about some backend? (jesus honey!) Design is the main thing we're worried about, the technical is great, but design is priority
4. Do you have a sense of humor? Are you cool? Do you like Margaritas? If you say yes to any of these, then what are you waiting for? send us your resume.
5. More than 3 years experience doing web design?
6. Are you good at making logos?

Anyways, send me a PM if you have some info. I will then determine if I can send on to my boss.

Edit: Again, this is an unofficial ad. I'm trying to help my boss find possible candidates. She's been getting all kinds of people, some with NO experience at all...some with only After Effects experience, some with only print experience. Some with web experience, but not great at design.

In case any of you are die-hard WTR (Walker, Texas Ranger) fans, I know that I announced that we had temporarily canceled the show here on Hallmark Channel...but apparently, Walker wasn't happy with that shit. He gave us a round-house after round house kick to the nethers until we thought it was a good idea to put him back on the air....a week later. So go ahead and watch the bad vfx, ridiculous plot lines, and the ass kickin' your hearts content. Walker's back bitches, and he wants you to know it's tax time.

Because I just took 20 minutes figuring out why mine wouldn't.

Check to make sure your file is RGB - NOT CMYK...sheesh. It's that simple.

That's the danger of working in multiple mediums.
