  1. Too bad, i was also interested in seeing if it was a go this year or not. Hopefully 2011.
  2. LOL - Just saw it. Hilarious!
  3. This might have been discussed before, but i have experience it with Photoshop CS4 when it was first released. I believe that you should be able to fix this with downloading the latest update from Adobe.
  4. Indeed! I am a nerd for this kind of stuff.
  5. Hey guys! Just wanted to give everyone the heads up that i recently launched my new portfolio site containing a new reel and several projects created between 2008 — 2009. View Site www.ryan-massiah.com Thanks, Ryan
  6. Try using the 'Boole' object, or if you have the C4D mograph module, 'Spline Mask'.
  7. Thanks for all the feedback and suggestions everyone. So i've decided to go with a base model '09 Mac Pro w/ 8 gigs of ram and ATI Radeon HD 4870 card.
  8. I would be using the machine primarily for design purposes only, no gaming... so that would include Photoshop, Illustrator, In-Design and After Effects (3D layers, lights, particular). Also Maxon C4D for 3D stuff and Final Cut Pro for editing. Ideally either one of these setups should be suitable for that kind of work flow, however i would like to confirm that i make the right descion with this purchase. I've been a PC person all my life, however as of recently i think it would be a smart move to be more familiar w/ OSX.
  9. I'm currently contemplating my first mac purchase and i would like to get the experienced feedback from fellow board members here. My options right now are between: Mac Pro 2.8GHz 8-Core Intel Xeon '08 edition 2GB (2 x 1GB) of 800MHz DDR2 ECC fully buffered DIMM 320GB Serial ATA 3Gb/s 7200-rpm hard drive 16x SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW) ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 256MB (two dual-link DVI ports or Mac Pro 2.66GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon (Nehalem) '09 edition 3GB (3 x 1GB) of 1066MHz DDR3 ECC memory 640GB Serial ATA 3Gb/s 7200 rpm 18x SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW) NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 with 512MB GDDR3 memory Both for the same price. Thanks, Ryan
  10. Unfortunately due to certain circumstances i will not be able to attend F5, so i am presently selling my ticket for $150 if anyone is looking into going this week.

  12. Anyone interested in doing a meetup after the presentations?
  13. Thanks for the replies everyone, at least i know that it is a bug in the app. I'll look into using illustrator in conjunction with the mograph tool. Btw: I'm using 10 Cheers.
  14. Hoping that somebody can help me on with this... in theory this should be a very easy task, but for some reason i can't change any of my fonts with the type tool using C4D on a mac.
  15. Who's going to be attending Pause next week? My buddy and myself are interested in meeting up w/ any peeps this weekend and through out the event.
  16. This may be what you're looking for. http://www.troika.tv
  17. Sao_Bento - i sort of thought so myself, but wasn't sure and figured i'd post here before moving forward. drnz - thanks for your 2 links, i'll be looking through these both more thoroughly before purchase.
  18. Can anyone recommend books that would help cover the following topic? I already own several C4D, and 3 Trish & Chris Meyer's books (more technical than theory), however i am presently looking for something that would increase my knowledge of animation. I've come across The Animator's Survival Kit: and The Illusion of Life: Disney Animation, but i'm not sure if the theory learned here would carry into broadcast/motion animation. Thanks
  19. To be honest, i'm not a huge MTV viewer, but i make sure to catch the VMA every year ( since early 90's). As many have already mentioned, previous VMA have been a lot better in comparison to this years. I felt the backstage theme (in particular T.I and P!NK) was interesting and well done. Hopefully they can refine the overall concept and push it further in the future, or just bring it back to NYC when it was good! As for the graphic package: the overall branding was alright, but what really caught my eye were the nominee designs. So Prologue did those Govinda? Niceness! Btw: If anyone knows where i can find early 90's VMA DVD's/footage (they don't carry them on the MTV shop) that would be excellent. The packages in the mid-late 90's were insane back then.
  20. Ok, my bad, Prologue did the 2006 package. I am still wondering who created this years package though. Hopefully it will pop-up soon.
  21. Anybody know who created this years package? I know that Prologue created the 2007 one. Thought it might have been done by them again or possibly DK, or Colourmovie.
  22. May want to look into http://www.alistapart.com (for UI development side) http://www.qbn.com (for more inspirational works) Hopefully this helps.
  23. Good point Govinda. (no pun intended) ;] I should have posted a .jpg w/ the Object Manager as there are no Nulls w/thin this hierarchy. the_Monkey, tried looking into my display controls which was good to know if this ever occurs again. On the bright side, my controls are back to normal today. I highly doubt it, but ever since i deleted my demo ver of r11 on my desktop my ability to transform objects are normal again.
  24. Hopefully this is an easy question... I am having problems rotating, scaling, and moving the following object. http://www.ryan-massiah.com/screen-grab.jpg Is there way for c4d to be preventing me from making any transforms to this object even though there is no 'protection' tag? I've also noticed that my axis bands turn from arws, to spheres.
