  1. Last month I jumped across the pond to visit my sister in New York and was amazed at the questions asked about my countries (New Zealand & Germany) health care systems and how they functioned.... some of the questions were absolutely dumbfounding. This Washington post article gives a good break down of “other countries” health care systems in comparison to the good old US of A: 5 Myths About Health Care Around the World A small snippet: “In many ways, foreign health-care models are not really "foreign" to America, because our crazy-quilt health-care system uses elements of all of them. For Native Americans or veterans, we're Britain: The government provides health care, funding it through general taxes, and patients get no bills. For people who get insurance through their jobs, we're Germany: Premiums are split between workers and employers, and private insurance plans pay private doctors and hospitals. For people over 65, we're Canada: Everyone pays premiums for an insurance plan run by the government, and the public plan pays private doctors and hospitals according to a set fee schedule. And for the tens of millions without insurance coverage, we're Burundi or Burma: In the world's poor nations, sick people pay out of pocket for medical care; those who can't pay stay sick or die.”

  8. Mentioning Lulu reminded me of one of their greatest publications: Natural Harvest: A Collection of Semen-Based Recipes “Semen is not only nutritious, but it also has a wonderful texture and amazing cooking properties. Like fine wine and cheeses, the taste of semen is complex and dynamic. Semen is inexpensive to produce and is commonly available in many, if not most, homes and restaurants. Despite all of these positive qualities, semen remains neglected as a food. This book hopes to change that” Make sure you check out the preview pages for great recipes such as “Almost White Russian” and “Man made oysters”........
  9. @ _Chris, maybe when you've finished your course in “limb destruction” you could take a concise writing course... the length of your posts and the waffle contained therein makes my eyes bleed.
  10. Be very careful with German board games.... this one in particular; ”Mensch ärgere dich nicht” which translates as ”Hey, don't get angry, man“ has, on 3 separate occasions, almost broken my girlfriend and I up.... although in saying that the make up sex afterwards was always fantastisch! So play at your own risk.... or pleasure.....
  11. Damn..... oh well... sorry I also missed the in film interactive explanation.... it's too early in the morning here in the D'land.....It must be damn late where you are Sao...
  12. Here is a new campaign to punt Philips' new cinema style TV. The film they have created is really well made. A long "paused" scene which travels through quite a chaotic scenario.... I don't want to produce anything like this myself but just for interests sake how the hell was it made? http://www.cinema.philips.com
  13. Karen O is doing the sound track, which only adds another dollop of wickedness.

  17. I'm guessing the people that make up that target group aren't sticklers for labeling songs properly so I'm guessing 'voice over's' gonna sound a little like this: Cue gay 80's robot voice: "Track 1 Unknown Artist Unknown Album" "Track 2 Unknown Artist Unknown Album" "Track 3 Unknown Artist Unknown Album" "Track 4 Unknown Artist Unknown Album" "Track 5 Unknown Artist Unknown Album" "Track 6 Unknown Artist Unknown Album" "Track 7 Unknown Artist Unkn........................... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"
  18. I :H apple I hate things designed badly to make money.
  19. It always has been a pointless device but this new incarnation is pure evil, almost like an Onion fake product review: http://www.apple.com/ipodshuffle/ The two basic deign blunders: 1. The controls are in the earplugs, loose the headphones and you have a 4GB paper clip 2. What were they smoking when they invented this feature?: "Introducing Voice Over 2 the feature that gives iPod shuffle a voice. With the press of a button, it tells you what song is playing and who’s performing it. It can even tell you the names of your playlists, giving you a new way to navigate your music." Firstly the Mac voice over sounds like a robot from 1981 but even worse, when you synch it with a PC the voice changes to a gaybot.....with space of 1000 song you have to wait till the gaybot tells you ALL THE FUCKEN TITLES to find the one song you are looking for.... I wonder if they thought about other languages.... I mean how does it deal with foreign titles (Japanese for example) or if they do make a version for each language then the foreign languages will fuck up the English song titles, which I'm guessing the majority of the worlds pop' music is sung in... for example In German 'The Strokes' would become “Ta Schtrookes” Good work Apple..... Rant over
