Hanging my macbook pro on the wall. Ok?

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I'm using apples LED 27" external monitor and don't really need to use the monitor on my laptop. I'm thinking of putting up one of these tiny shelves on my wall behind the monitor so I can keep the laptop positioned vertically on the shelf with the lid closed, just to get more space on my desk. Anyone who has any experience about this setup and if, for example, the hardware gets worn out faster when not positioned flat on a table?

Thanks guys

Cheers

Fredrik

I've read that you shouldn't use a MacBook Pro with the lid closed because it relies on the keyboard, speakers, and the little gap between the display and body for ventilation. I guess officially apple supports it (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3131) but I'd still crack it open while rendering or doing any other heavy computing.
