What's included in a network channel broadcast package?

Recommended Posts

I've been thinking about doing one just to try it out and from the top of my head I can name:

-The brand itself

-Channel ID

-Bumpers

-Lower Thirds

-Lineup

-Upfront

Any of you who has had any experience doing broadcast design can shed some light? Thanks!

Right, having worked in this world for a few years now, here's what I can tell you to expect in a broadcast package...

A style guide with...

Logo design + standards

Animated version of that logo

Color Schemes

Typography instructions

A packaged After Effects project with...

Endpage versions with various tune-ins (1 show, 2 shows, etc)

Lower 3rds with various tune-ins

Bumpers and/or transitions

Opens, usually with tune in info ("Sunday")

Bugs (lower right) with tune in info

Animated logos

IPM design (annoying pop ups at the bottom of the screen, usually to the left)

Some networks are more strict with their packages than others, but most of them stick to what I just listed.

Have fun!

Thanks a lot daveglanz.

If you or someone could explain what does what I quoted means I would really appreciate it, since I've never worked for broadcast and english is not my first language.

I know what bumpers, lower thirds and bugs are, but I have no clue about the other ones.

Thanks again!
